Scoliosis Correction Through Minimally Invasive Innovation

This patient presented with a significant spinal curvature requiring surgical correction. While traditionally considered a complex and highly invasive procedure, Dr. Peloza approached it with a powerful, minimally invasive technique that delivered remarkable results with minimal disruption to the body.

Using just three small portals, Dr. Peloza was able to access and reduce the spinal curve with precision. The result? A realigned spine with less trauma, less blood loss, and a smoother recovery than open scoliosis surgery typically allows.

This approach challenges conventional thinking, demonstrating that even the most complex spinal deformities can be treated with minimally invasive methods when guided by expertise, experience, and the right tools.

The intraoperative photo shows the patient on their side with 3 small portals for the spinal exposure. The spine was released from the front and cages were placed in the disc spaces. This corrected the patient’s curve and indirectly decompressed the nerve roots.

The screws and rods were placed in a MIS percutaneous technique without open spinal exposure and the attendant muscle and nerve damage.
